Democratic Self-Organization in Planning EducationAESOP Young Academics Network (YAN) will participate in the Education and Skills Track at WPSC 2026 with a paper exploring democratic self-organization in planning education.

The paper presents YAN as a case study of how democratic and self-organizing academic networks contribute to planning education through collaborative inquiry, community building, and decentralized learning practices. Drawing on the pragmatist community of inquiry framework, the study examines how organizational structures, digital infrastructures, and institutional interdependencies support educational initiatives across regions.

The session will discuss both centralized and decentralized forms of learning within YAN, ranging from coordinated knowledge-sharing initiatives to spontaneous encounters at conferences and social events.
