PhD Workshop: Grenoble, July 4th-6th 2024
AHEAD OF THE GAME
REVERSIBILITY, FRUGALITY AND CARE IN THE CONTEXT OF URBAN TRANSITIONS
Working with what already exists, recycling soil, using resources sparingly and caring for objects that we want to be more reversible and less fixed in their uses... these are some of the more challenging objectives of contemporary urban planning. Grenoble, for its Olympic city past and its historical citizens’ movements relation to local governments, is a perfect place for discussing these topics. PhD candidates will be accompanied to think how approaching reversibility, frugality and care in planning needs to improve methodological tools for in vivo and contextualized knowledge of territories.
