AESOP Young Academics Network is pleased to highlight the PlaNext roundtable session at WPSC 2026 dedicated to emerging editorial visions in planning research.
The session will bring together members of the PlaNext editorial community and contributors to discuss the evolving role of next-generation academic journals in shaping planning scholarship. The roundtable will explore new editorial approaches, emerging research agendas, open-access publishing, and the challenges and opportunities facing early career scholars within contemporary academic publishing.
The discussion aims to create an open and supportive space for reflecting on how academic journals can foster critical dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative forms of knowledge production in planning research.
