Your future position is at the Department of Geography and Regional Research (IfGR) that is part of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy. Within the IfGR your future position is assigned to the Urban Studies Working Group. The Group researches the complex interactions of social, ecological and technical processes, with emphasis on how such impact the urban system. The Group engages in conceptual, theoretical, and empirical work on urban sustainability transformations and city-specific challenges with the overall objective of contributing to urban sustainability transformations, mainly in Europe and Latin America.
Accordingly, we encourage you to submit an intriguing research proposal that illustrates your area of interest, and specifically, how such links to urban sustainability transformations. Moreover, in this proposal you should discuss the incorporation of novel research methods which support the development and innovation of living lab-based research. Topics can include a range of foci, from mobility and housing, to food security and climate adaptation, as the key is that such relate to urban sustainability transformations.
