IIHS Research Week 2027 | 11–16 January
IIHS Research Week returns from 11 to 16 January 2027. It brings together two events: the PhD Workshop and Urban ARC, IIHS’s annual international research conference.
PhD Workshop | 11–13 January
The Workshop is open to doctoral scholars at any stage. It offers a space to develop and sharpen their research through mentorship, peer learning and individual feedback.
Urban ARC | 14–16 January
This year’s conference theme is ‘Urban Futures: Crisis, Knowledge, and Collective Possibility’. Contributions are welcome from across urban disciplines and methodological approaches.
Urban ARC begins as soon as the Workshop ends. We encourage Workshop participants to stay on for the conference. It is a chance to continue conversations with peers and engage with a wider community of researchers and practitioners.
Venue and format
Both events will be held at IIHS, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru. Urban ARC also welcomes online participation. Online options for the PhD Workshop are limited.
Deadline: 1 November 2026 for both applications.
