Xiaolin LAO is a Ph.D. Candidate at the UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy (APEP) and the UCD Spatial Dynamics Lab (SDL). Her research, which lies at the intersection of community resilience, vulnerable communities, and climate governance, currently seeks to understand how to address inherent vulnerabilities within the broader context of the Anthropocene. Her current empirical study in Xi'an delves into the resilience mechanisms of vulnerable communities (old communities, urban villages, and shantytowns) facing Urban Heat challenges.
